The Manchester United striker is famed for his outlandish personality and comments, but the Swede has been urged to display a more mellow side
Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has undergone a comical rebrand which sees him backtrack on many of his outlandish statements.
The 36-year-old is renowned for his larger-than-life personality, with the Swedish superstar never afraid to blow his own trumpet or express an opinion which may ruffle a few feathers.
Maybe, though, he is mellowing with age, with the iconic frontman working with a PR team to change his image.
From comparing himself to a lion to questioning the ability of former Norway international John Carew, the new Zlatan is eager to set the record straight.
“Hi, I’m Zlatan and my feet are firmly on the ground” – words you perhaps never imagined to leave Ibrahimovic’s lips.
Maybe, though, this altered version of a famous character is not as clean cut as he is trying to make out, with it difficult even for him to make concessions regarding old adversary Carew.
Can you imagine if this is what Ibrahimovic had become – how boring would the football world be without its self-proclaimed king!
Fortunately, that is not about to happen any time soon, with it safe to assume that there will be plenty of sound bites and talismanic performances to come from a modern-day legend before he hangs up his boots and picks up another bunch of flowers.
